【Pop-up Store Announcement】
March 27 (Fri) and 28 (Sat)
We will be participating in the "Wool and Scent" exhibition
held at Mitsuami Beauty Salon.
@mitsuami_biyouten
This project began with an encounter with a sheep named "Yes."
In the spring two years ago,
I met a shepherd named Yohei
at Meno Village in Kitashinonuma, Hokkaido.
Yohei had named each and every one of his many sheep,
and he told me about their lineage and personalities.
Watching him always surrounded by sheep, gently looking after them,
I immediately understood
that there was a relationship of trust between humans and animals.
And I was even allowed to name a lamb that didn't have a name yet:
"Yes."
⸻
Since then, I started visiting Meno Village regularly
to see "Yes."
Last spring, when Yes turned one,
I was told she would have her first shearing.
Learning that much of her wool would go unused,
I didn't want the wool of "Yes," who had been raised with such care,
to simply be discarded.
I started thinking about what form it could take.
⸻
And so, I went to meet Chinatsu from Mitsuami Beauty Salon
and wool artist Chie Shimoyama.

Touching Chie's work, I was drawn to her careful handiwork,
and I strongly felt that I wanted her to take on this project,
so I decided to entrust her with "Yes's" wool.
Last summer, we all gathered
and spent two days washing the wool.
Through that process,
"Yes's" wool ball diffuser
was born.
I blended the scent, imagining "Yes," the farm, and the northern land.
⸻
The person who raises the sheep,
the person who shapes the wool,
the person who creates the scent.
Their respective works overlapped,
and thus, it took this one form.
⸻
At this exhibition,
you can experience "Yes's" diffuser and scent,
yes products, and Chie's works
in person.
I would be delighted if many people could come and see it.
I look forward to seeing you there.
